Baby Kale Blast

Now that I’m a pro NutriBlaster, I have learned to love my greens, especially my green NutriBlasts.  Lately, I’ve been expanding my horizons on the leafy greens.  I just discovered and have fallen in love with baby kale.

Unlike the regular kale, the little sister baby kale has smaller more tender leaves with a milder taste. Personally, I think it is more versatile and palatable than the large leaves. Fresh baby kale comes packed with nutrients the body needs to produce energy. Just one cup of kale has 36 calories, a ton of vitamin A, C, K, antioxidants and 20 percent of our recommended dietary allowance of fiber.  Not to mention it tastes and smells better, too! It makes a perfect addition to salads or any morning Blast.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple with skin, cubed and seeded
  • 2 large handfuls of baby kale
  • 1 cup non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
  • 2 – 3 ice cubes
  • water to line

Directions 

Add all ingredients to your Tall NutriBullet Cup, extract until smooth and enjoy.

Try adding a little baby kale to your morning Blast and you will feel the energy you need to start the day. As usual, please feel free to take creative liberties.
