Blasting for Picky Children
5If your child actually eats his or her fruits and vegetables, then consider yourself one of the lucky ones! For everyone else with picky little eaters, there’s the NutriBullet! Make your children a “milkshake” with plenty of colorful fruits, some healthy almond milk, and some hidden greens, and they’ll get all the essential vitamins and minerals their growing bodies need.
Here’s longevity and nutrition expert David Wolfe with some more tips on how to get your children to eat their veggies!

Both my 7-year old son and now 2-year old daughter won’t go near ANYTHING green! So I totally agree with sneaking in the spinach (or other green veggie) to the smoothie and hiding the container while I’m making it. I use 2 cups spinach, 1 banana and frozen berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries). It comes out purple’ish and that’s totally acceptable for them. I was screaming for joy on the inside when I saw my son drink it and say “yum!” I had to hide my excitement and act like it wasn’t a big deal because he hasn’t eaten a veggie for at least 3 years!
I make my daughter’s blasts in the morning when she is just about done with her shower, so I can hide the greens! She loves a different blast every morning, and never knows there is spinach in them. I find that blueberries hide most of the green color.
Thank you for the milkshake idea! My son has been enjoying the shakes I’ve been making on the NB. I will try making a milkshake with the almond milk!
Thank you for the recipe!
my 3 yr old grandson runs right into my kitchen saying “monkey shake!” Then he grabs the stool and stands there telling me to put banana and peanut butter into the cup of almond milk. What he doesn’t realize is that the can with the monkey on it is chocolate flavor junior spirolina protein mix! we ALL love Dylan’s monkey shakes and kinda hang around sipping on what’s leftover after pouring into his special cup. It’s just so wonderful!
Love the recipe sounds great! We are waiting on our Nutribullet to get here and fortunately we have a daughter who loves veggies of all kind.
