Recently, I’ve noticed more people on the nutrition bandwagon in my neighborhood. Several new juice and smoothie bars have opened up all over town. So, since I consider myself a NutriBullet Blasting connoisseur, I thought I would check out the buzz around my hood. Sad to say – it was disappointing. At one of the new places (a big franchise, no less), their idea of a nourishing drink was sports powder (their own brand) dumped into a cup of water and blended. This was their interpretation of nutritional meal replacement. As it turned out, not only was it was disgusting, I was charged $6.00 for it! Sigh, another sugar-dense drink sold under a façade of a healthy alternative to real nutrition.

Surely, there must be a way to drink fruits and veggies without turning them into another nutrition nightmare or a complicated mess! The simplest solution? Make your own! This way, you know exactly what’s going into your drink and can control the amount of sugar and calories. Plus, by using the NutriBullet, you will ensure a perfectly extracted Blast, every time. And, don’t forget – homemade is good for your wallet, too! Homemade Blasts are so much cheaper than store-bought, especially when you take advantage of the produce on sale, buy in bulk and freeze.

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • ½ orange or small clementine, frozen
  • ½ small pineapple, frozen
  • ½ cup mixed berries, frozen
  • big handful of greens
  • ¼ cup raw almonds
  • water to MAX line

Do you talk to yourself when you NutriBlast? I’m not embarrassed to admit it – I do!

Honestly, it’s pretty funny. I’ve caught myself talking out loud in my office a few times as I sip on my Tall NutriBullet cup. “Oh, that’s good!”

I try to make my NutriBlasts tasty and, most days, I’m successful. In fact, some days, I really knock it out of the ballpark! My breakfast can be absolutely fantastic, from the first sip to the final slurp of the straw! And, as someone who gets bored pretty quickly, I’m surprised I’ve been able to adopt NutriBlasting as a lifestyle choice.

And yes, others talk to me about my Blasts, too! While I’m ooh-ing and ahh-ing, my officemates crack jokes about my “pond scum,” or my “green goo,” but I laugh right on with them and feel confident because I know that I’m doing my body good. After all, they’re entitled to their skepticism and I thoroughly enjoy the benefits of drinking my delicious smoothies every morning.

The cool blend of berries, nuts, almond milk, protein powder, a hint of kale, it tastes more like a milkshake than anything else. Now, my tastebuds crave the delicious flavor and my body enjoys the nutrition. With every sip, I can’t help but smile.

So, it’s no surprise I talk to myself; I love every minute of it!

Healthy Green Juice Smoothie Drink

Try this recipe for a delicious breakfast treat!

Breakfast Gone Bananas!


  • 1 handful kale
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup plain, Greek yogurt
  • 4-5 strawberries
  • 1 Tbsp SuperFood Protein Boost
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon
  • Almond milk to MAX line


Extract in your Tall Cup for 25 seconds, or until smooth.
