Frozen Mojito

I just discovered the coolest, most refreshing drink – the frozen mojito! It is so simple and easy and you can whip up a batch in your NutriBullet. Mojitos are my mixed drink of choice when I go to a restaurant. I love the taste of the simple sugar mixed with fresh mint and lime. However, those sugary calories can add up.

Lately, I’ve been cutting back on alcohol for my health’s sake. It fills me up and makes me feel bloated, so I’m trying to fill my body up with healthier foods. This way I crave less of the bad stuff and save room for the green stuff!

Problem solved! I created a frozen mojito with the same delicious flavor as a regular version, but in the form of a healthy, whole food NutriBlast.

Frozen Mojito

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of fresh mint
  • 1 lime peeled and sectioned
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 3 ice cubes
  • club soda to the max line
  • dash of honey or agave – optional

 Directions

Add all ingredients to your large NutriBullet cup and extract until smooth. Pour into two glasses and garnish with fresh mint and lime. This recipe is made without rum, but please feel free to add a little if needed.

 

Mint and lime give the Blast its mojito taste. Both have strong flavors so be careful not to add too much. Spinach adds substance and a nice green color to the Blast. The frozen banana adds a natural mild sweetness to the drink and gives it a great consistency. If you want, add a touch of honey or agave to make it sweeter.

Green Blast still get a bad rep and sound weird to some people. Well, green drinks are not just for the super healthy, anymore! You’ll never believe that this super delicious tropical concoction is actually a healthy green Blast in disguise. Throwing a party? This mojito is the perfect drink recipe for all occasions.
