My Inaugural NutriBlast
3One week ago, I was sitting in my living room, minding my own business. Then I heard a terrifying knock on the door. A knock that loud and that fast could only mean one thing: UPS had delivered a package.
My one second of being startled changed quickly into excitement. That package could only be one thing: my Nutribullet.
I unpacked the box like a child on Christmas morning. The recipe book. The blades. The cups. The accessories. Everything looked awesome, and I knew what I had to do. I had to NutriBlast.
Now, I don’t want you to think I’m a dork because I was excited to NutriBlast, but I really was. I saw the NutriBullet online, and I really responded to the idea of turning any food into a superfood. The power of the blade in such a compact size was like a dream come true.
I love my morning shakes and I swear by them. I would not start my day any other way. And the NutriBullet had the potential to make my shakes even more awesome. So, yes, I was really excited to NutriBlast.
I grabbed some blueberries, half an avocado, some frozen spinach, flax seed, almond milk, vanilla protein powder, water, and some stevia. This shake was about to get serious. I loaded everything into the tall cup and screwed on the blade.
I plugged in the base and popped on the cup. I pressed down and heard the blade come to life. My ingredients didn’t know what hit them. After just a few seconds, the consistency of the Blast was already creamy and everything was finely blended.
A big issue I’ve had with my big, clunky blender is that even though the blade had the power I wanted, it would still leave me some clumps, and the consistency would never be fine. Since I like greens in my shakes, the consistency is very important. I don’t want to glub down a mouthful of half-blended spinach. Nobody wants that.
But with the Nutrbullet, just seeing the consistency of the Blast got me excited. I blended it for a little bit longer, because I wanted to make sure it was as awesome as it looked. I unscrewed the blade from the top of the cup and I was not disappointed.
The first thing I did was wipe my finger across the blade and base of the Nutribullet, just to get a taste. It was smooth like cake batter. Smoother, even. It was time to dive into the actual Blast.
You know that feeling you get when you’re experiencing something new for the first time? Or like when you’re wine tasting and you start to really appreciate the subtleties of the flavors? Or that feeling when you just saw a really good movie and you end up talking about it like you’re the most insightful film critic in the world? Well, that was me. But this time, it was about a smoothie.
Everything was so fully integrated and my tongue was so excited to experience the infusion of flavors. I decided to call this shake my Inaugural Nutriblast because I knew, from here on out, Nutriblasting would become my new tradition.

Hi Susan, thanks for a nice an inspiring note. If its not too personal a question, how has the weight loss been? May I also request your morning coffee blast recipe, mthanks.
Too hard to follow those acts above! I agree with the two posters- It is exciting & fun & wonderfully tasty!!
Gabe, you are a man after my own heart. I loved how you explained the feeling of excitement when you first received your NutraBullet. I too shared the same experiences you did. I had gone to the grocery store and to my local produce stand because I wanted fresh and organic ingredients to put into my Blast…I used fresh spinach, kale, blue berries, strawberries, half an avacado and some frozen peaches so I would get that frozen ‘slurpee’ consistency. I was kinf of afraid to push down on the large cup to turn the motor on. When it started to churn, I was more and more excited. I turned it off too soon the first time and experienced that goopy texture you were talking about. I added more coconut water and blended it again. This time, it turned out as smooth as “BUTTAH”….I couldn’t wait to taste my creation. Boy howdy when I put it to my lips, I was so excited to know that I had just created this amazing concoction. I too purchased a powerful blender that was advertised as being able to do all the things this little wonder can do…and it failed to come through with its promised elixir…I too was met with chunks of stuff and big ice cubes that were supposed to be turned into an icy like texture. I have learned to break down my ice cubes before putting them into the Bullet. I am afraid of damaging my blades. I have not looked back. Once I started ‘Blasting” the skies the limit when it comes to ingredients. I love crushing up almonds and other nuts to make a tasty, nutritious powder to add to my drinks…and I use coconut water and milk at times to give it a luxurious texture and flavor. My morning, coffee smoothies are to die for. You cannot taste the kale or spinach…none of the ‘good for you’ ingedients can be tasted at all. Just the yummy yogurt, vanilla bean and steevia…just so you all know, Corn syrup used in small doses is NOT the toxic liquid we are all being told it is. It is a naturally created liquid and tastes wonderful when used in small portions.. Same with raw cane sugar. Just a touch sometimes gives your Blasts a lil extra sweetness…some fruits are not as sweet as we think they are…
So, in conclusion, this amazing little invention has made my year. I am going to begin eating healthy and making my morning Blasts to get my motor started. I hope everyone is able to enjoy this amazing little machine. It has made my life so enjoyable. Who know ground up veggies could be so fun?
