I have been NutriBlasting for over two years now. I feel pretty confident in my abilities to come up with the right balance of taste and nutrition that works for me. However, it hasn’t always been Nutri-bliss! I jumped into the NutriBullet program head first. I was determined to make each and every Blast delicious and healthy. Boy, was I wrong. Some were so disgusting, they went directly down the sink. Nevertheless, my determination prevailed and now I’m an expert Blaster.
Then I started thinking, if I had problems getting started and staying motivated, I’m sure there are others just like me. There is so much material out there on what’s healthy and what’s not, the information is endless. You can go vegetarian, carb-free, gluten-free or try any of the latest fad diets. After all, nutrition is very personal. Everyone has his or her own dietary needs. Usually, what works best for one person does not necessarily work for another. The important thing is to have both short and long term goals and to stay MOTIVATED!
What I have learned is to start simple and have a plan. What are your goals and how can you achieve them? Is it weight loss? Lowering your cholesterol? General health issues and overall wellbeing? Make a list of fruits and veggies you like – there’s plenty of them out there. Start with combinations that sound familiar and each day try adding something new. Keep a list of what works and doesn’t work for you. The NutriBullet recipe book is a great place to start. It’s loaded with recipes, helpful hints and a journal in the back.
Here’s a simple, delicious, not too green Blast to help get you started. This makes a good base recipe for most morning Blasts. It can be tweaked for every individuals taste!
- 1 banana
- ½ orange
- ½ cup of pineapple chunks, fresh or frozen
- ½ cup berries, any combination, fresh or frozen
- handful of spinach
- ¼ cup of almonds, raw
- 2 – 3 ice cubes
- water to line
Add all ingredients to your Tall NutriBullet Cup and extract.
You will be amazed how easy and tasty this Blast can be! To help make things easier and keep me motivated, I make my Blasts the night before and extract in the morning. This way I have no excuse not to have breakfast. Gradually, try adding more greens to your drinks. At first, I thought spinach and kale only belong in salads. Now, I can’t imagine a Blast with out them!
