Never Buy Salad Dressing Again!
17I used to have about 10 salad dressings in my fridge. Creamy ones, vinaigrettes, fruity selections and even exotic-sounding options. But these days? My fridge doesn’t have a single bottle of commercial salad dressing. Why? Because I’ve learned that I can make dressings at home that are cheaper and tastier. Like, way tastier. My latest creation is below!
Creamy Orange-Peanut Salad Dressing
Ingredients
- 1 peeled orange
- 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
Directions
- Blend until smooth!
When you blend those goodies together, you get a creamy, slightly citrusy and savory salad dressing that is super filling, nutritionally dense and tastes really, really good. The ingredients above are enough for one ginormous salad, but feel free to double if you are making salads for two.
In addition to making a really good salad dressing, I’ve found that this little concoction is also stellar as a sauce on chicken or even dipping baby carrots, pretzels or jicama sticks in. Just be sure to eat it right away, as it tends to separate after a few hours. But if your house is anything like mine, as soon as it is made, it’s gone!
Have you made salad dressing in your NutriBullet yet? Will you try my recipe? Let me know what you think!

I added several slices of ginger and a clementine instead of the orange! excellent!
Creamy Orange-Peanut Salad Dressing
Ingredients
1 peeled orange
2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
I just blast the Ginger-Kale recipe and use a couple teaspoons on my salad…it is wonderful!!!
Would you please post that recipe? I did a search and somehow missed it.
Thanks!
My favourite is really simple. I call it a 1-2-3 dressing:
1 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
2 Tbsp. Mustard (anything you have in the fridge)
3 Tbsp. Balsamic Vinegar
Shake and pour!!
I have to say that I am so glad that I came across this post tonight. I was toying with the idea of dressings etc. These extra recipes sound awesome! Thanks to all that shared!
Made a great one last night…serving size is 1Tbsp.
1/3 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tbsp White Vinegar
1 clove garlic
1 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp honey
1/8 tsp salt
Ground pepper to taste
Emeril’s Green Onion and Cilantro Dressing
A common myth is that to eat healthy, you have to give up taste. Chef Emeril Lagasse keeps the flavor in this green onion and cilantro dressing.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 cup grape seed oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard
2 bunches or 1 cup of blanched green onion
1/2 cup of cilantro
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground white pepper
Combine ingredients and blend until smooth and — Bam! — a great salad dressing.
Of course, dieters may have raised eyebrows at the mention of grape seed oil — a high-calorie oil (120 calories and 15 fat grams per tablespoon). But, on the plus side, it is a low cholesterol, low sodium and low saturated fat oil — one of the healthy ones, if you will. Additionally, it is an antioxidant supplement and a good source of Vitamin E. So, a little grape seed oil in your dressing, combined with these other fresh, healthy ingredients is a good use of your calories and fat grams.
Red Wine Vinaigrette:
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Mix the vinegar, lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper first… then add the oil.
I blended up a beautiful dressing with avocado, carrot, lime, walnuts, ginger and cilantro. I used a dash of fish sauce and sriracha hot sauce to spice it up a bit and a little water to thin it out. it’s always mix and match!

Dear Jennipher,
I would like to have the infgredients for your salad too. It looks delicious!!!
So far the salad dressings I have made have been with a combo of olive oil and other ingredients and the olive oil was a total put off. Maybe it’s the brand i’m using but it does suggest for salad dressings. I got discouraged and stopped trying. I would love to try some without the olive oil and see how my husband and I like them because I am so ready to give up buying pre-made from the grocery store.
sounds delish and i want to learn to make more natural, healthy salad dressings instead of buying from the market-can anyone share a link or more recipes …. thank you!
