With another holiday season down, it’s time to get back to my New Year’s resolution, “Lose the weight from the holidays and get rid of the excess cookies, cakes, and candies!”  Every year I attempt to do this and, within a week, it’s back again. This year it’s going to be different.

I just discovered the NutriBullet makes the terrific sorbet. This is a fancy way of saying “sherbet style fruit dessert.” This type of frozen treat may sound new and trendy however, it has been around since the first century A.D.  The French are the ones responsible for the culinary tradition of using sorbet to cleanse the palate between courses.

You can dazzle your friends and family with this frozen treat.  It is so easy to whip up in the NutriBullet. This will satisfy the pickiest of sweet tooths.

Here is one of my favorites:

Sorbet

  • 1 Cup of frozen strawberries
  • ½ Cup frozen mango

Add ingredients into the large NB cup and pulse for 10 – 15 seconds.  Scoop into a bowl and garnish with a sprig of mint. Voila – instant dessert.  Did I mention you could do this with any type of frozen fruit? Plus, it’s fat free, healthy and quite refreshing. Sorbet can mark the end of a meal as something special with just the right hint of glamour. It has become known as a healthier frozen dessert. I encourage you to try different fruits. You will never run out of combinations.
