Sweet Tart Holiday Blast3
This month, I want to celebrate one of my favorite seasonal berries: the cranberry. The appearance of these tart red berries in the grocery stores can only mean one thing, the holidays are around the corner! What can be more festive than a cranberry grape Blast for those special celebrations? This seasonal drink is the perfect culinary addition to any party or holiday event. The ideal combination of sweet and tart balances out this perfectly seasonal treat.
Cranberries not only add a beautiful color to your blast, they are also one of the richest sources of antioxidants and vitamins. They are available in local grocery stores from October through December. Red grapes on the other hand, are generally available year round. They are high in vitamins and low in calories, just as long as you measure out a portion size. About 30 red grapes are equal to a one-cup serving, roughly 100 calories.
Sweet Tart Blast
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup red seedless grapes
- ½ cup fresh cranberries
- ½ – 1 small red apple, chopped and deseeded.
- 2 – 3 ice cubes
- water to max line
- Add all ingredients to the tall NutriBullet cup and extract.
I love the fresh simple taste of this Blast. It’s delicious, sweet and pleasantly tart made with fresh cranberries. Also, there are no additional sweeteners or dairy, just real fruit and water. This is the perfect Blast to kick off the holiday season.
I like to stock up on fresh cranberries while they are in market. So, I buy a few bags and keep them on hand in the freezer. They are also good for homemade pumpkin cranberry bread, too. If fresh are not available in your area, you can use canned cranberries. Be sure not to use the jellied and canned ones.
