The Nutriblast “Blast”

54

Don’t underestimate the value of the term “Blast.” A blast can be a highly exciting or pleasurable experience or event, such as a big party.  A blast can also refer to taking off, as a rocket.

Both of these definitions refer to extreme measures and such has become my extreme affection for my Nutribullet machine and my Nutriblasts.

As you probably know, the Nutriblasts have offered remarkable results in lowering my cholesterol and triglycerides, reducing my gastric acid reflux, and bringing my waist down from 36 inches to a comfortable 32 inches after dropping 24 pounds. This is all well and good, but is it sustainable? In order for this to endure, I embrace a simple concept about my Nutriblasts. The concept is something like this:

Nutriblasts are easy and I am lazy, so this is a great combination.

This is a simple fact of life. Preparing the Nutriblasts in the morning takes less than 2 minutes, and the clean-up is even quicker. At a bare minimum, the organic greens are delicious, and the fresh fruits are luscious, scrumptious, and yummy. Let’s start with organic greens like spinach and kale (I can pass on the chard). Fruits that are locally in-season at the time are the best to buy, as they are ripe, abundant, and  usually cheap.

Have you seen those yellow mangos at Whole Foods? They are amazing. Organic strawberries, raspberries, bananas, apples, pears, papayas…if you like fresh fruit salads, keep reading.

How tough is it to add fruits and greens in a NutriBullet cup? Not a lot of brain power required, right? So far, so good on the “easy” rating. Now, add a combination of  chia, maca powder, hemp hearts, goji berries, raw almonds, raw cashews, pumpkin seeds, and you are building a nice Nutriblast. Stick to the organic products, and season it up a little with a squeeze of lemon, a few pieces of ginger root, or a clove of garlic (depending on your social commitments!) This is kind of fun, because while the NutriBullet will liquefy every component, you will still be able to taste each individual ingredient. And, I promise you will feel the garlic, the ginger, and the lemon enter your system with a “Blast.” If you are daring, drink the Nutriblast straight from the Nutribullet cup, so you just have one cup to clean-up when you are done. We have married the fast and easy with the lazy – I hate clean-up!

If you want to kick it up a notch, add acai or camu camu powder. I am sure you are saying; “Camu camu–Nutriblast Voodoo–you got to be kidding me, right?” Well, camu camu powder comes from the camu camu fruit, which is about the size of a grape. It is found in swampy areas of the Amazonian rain forest in Peru. It contains powerful phytochemicals, is full of amino acids, and has more Vitamin C than any other known fruit in the world. One small grape provides roughly 30X more vitamin C than an orange, and it is also a significant source of Potassium. It provides a huge range of medicinal effects for various health conditions, and has been ranked effective for asthma, colds, cataracts, migraines, and gingivitis (to name a few). Just add 1/2 teaspoon of this powder into the Nutriblast, and enjoy the benefits!

So, Blast off with your Nutriblasts, and have a blast! Get creative, spice it up, take off like a rocket, look like a rockstar, and have some fun!
